If quality, professionalism and peace of mind are what you are looking for, Merriman's is your answer.  I am so glad that I selected them to work on our second home in Redlands.  I wouldn't necessarily say their price was higher (for the better quality).  I had 3 itemized quotes to compare, each had high & low variances on the line items.  Merriman's quotes were competitive on my project.
They put in vinyl fencing, aluminum patio cover with concrete slab, rain gutters and widen the driveway for a second car parking for me.  The entire process was just what I wanted - a non-event for me.  As I know nothing about the remodeling or maintenance stuff around the house, they took care of everything, including resolving surprises came from the city inspector.  Steve literally chased after the issue all the way into the City Hall and resolved it.  
Everyone I have dealt with at Merriman's were professional at what they do, this include the office personnel too.  I highly recommend them and there is a good reason why they have been around since 1967.

Had a handful of estimates given for a concrete driveway, and while not the lowest offer, James spent the most time brainstorming the details with me and not trying to change what I wanted (due to several contractors not able to replace the curb with an approach). While the project was broken into several steps with a few days between each (or rain delay), their office did a good job of letting me know when to expect the next phase.
James made sure to work with me during the process and insure I was happy, or make adjustments as needed. The end result looks perfect and I'd go with Merriman's again for additional contracting work.

My manufactured home roof failed during the Christmas holidays.  Major water damage in five rooms.  My master bathroom was a swimming pool!  My insurance company sent me on a wild goose chase, the company they recommended and told me to contact, did absolutely nothing to stop the flood! I was so scared and furious that I couldn't even think straight!  My husband had died 2-months before and I honestly didn't know what to do!  I was thumbing through the phone book when I finally remembered Merriman's, Inc.  My mom had Merriman's do some work for her years ago and she had been very impressed with them! So I called them, told them my sad water-logged story, and they had their guys out within an hour of my call!  They covered my entire roof with plastic, which immediately stopped all the flooding, and they did this while it was still raining. Then, after the new roof was installed (which took a bit of time because it kept raining), they did major repairs to the floors and walls in all the rooms.  First they put huge fans in and dried up all the water and got rid of the mold.  They replaced dry wall, subfloors, they painted and installed new flooring, you name it, they took care of it and they cleaned up every day after they were finished!  This is a great company!  They are totally professional, honest, on time/on schedule and do quality work!  If you want a contractor that you can trust, look no further than Merriman's!

Had a leak in my roof causing water damage to my kitchen.  It ended in a full kitchen remodel.  I am so grateful for Merriman's Inc.  They came out within 48 hours and had a full estimate with a detail breakdown of where the damage was and what needed to be replaced and the costs.  I have zero experience with water damage and am definitely not a handy man  so I am thankful that they were patient in answering all of my questions and explain everything. They are reasonably priced with outstanding service.  If I ever am in need of any future repairs (heaven forbid) or even when it comes time to get my patio cover I will be calling them again.

This letter is to send accolades to your company and to two of your employees. This morning while attempting to negotiate my way to the street from the dog park area.....my walker collapsed.....Fortunately, Ralph saw me fall as he was on his way to his job at space 177. He immediately ran to my aid and assessed the problem and put my broken walker in the back of his truck. While he was doing that Bryson arrived on foot and both of them helped me to my feet...... Both of these gentlemen made sure I was OK before leaving to their job across the street. What a blessing!
